Admission

  • Candidates for the JSLI should be committed to a life of personal spiritual development and service to humanity.

  • As ongoing spiritual work is seen as an integral part of the program of study, completion of JSLI's curriculum is understood to be a beginning, not an end of lifetime study.

  • Candidates should be supportive of Interfaith marriage.

  • Regular attendance at synagogue worship services is expected- as is occasional attendance at non-Jewish houses of worship as a greater understanding of the modern world's faiths is intrinsic to your development as a modern spiritual leader.

We offer rolling admissions so you can begin to study as soon as you become admitted to the JSLI. You must fulfill the following requirements:

1) You must demonstrate the sincere desire and necessary attitude, aptitude and skill sets to become a rabbi.

2) You must provide three letters of recommendation supporting your request for admission to JSLI with the goal of becoming a Rabbi & Spiritual Leader.

3) You must successfully interview with the Admissions Committee.

Life experience may qualify you for advanced standing in some areas. At the completion of each course, you must demonstrate your knowledge on the subject material.

You may only study one course per month and you must complete all of the courses to become ordained.
